Obituary of Benjamin Franklin Glenn
Please share a memory of Benjamin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On April 13, 2025, our hearts were saddened by the passing of Benjamin Franklin Glenn. Benjamin was born in Amelia, Virginia on November 6, 1942, to the late Lillian P. Glenn and Johnnie Glenn.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his eldest son, Bentley Jerome Glenn of Ettrick, Virginia; his brothers, James Glenn (Dinwiddie), and Johnnie Glenn (Amelia); and his sister, Silver Lee Evans (Amelia).
Benjamin known as “Ben” to those close to him, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was baptized at an early age. After many years of truck driving, Ben retired in 2009. Ben always had a kind word about everyone and loved his family.
Ben leaves loving memories with his devoted wife, Mary Glenn of Ford. He also leaves behind one son, Randy Glenn of Ford; two brothers, Larry, and William (Eve); three sisters, Rosa Woodley (Frank), Sarah Glenn, and Vernell Ross; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Gloria Glenn of Petersburg.
“Sometimes it’s hard to understand
Why certain things must be.
But there is a reason for it all
beyond our power to see.
The blow was hard, the shock severe.
We never thought your death was so near,
But only those who have lost can tell
The pain of parting without farewell.”
