Tyrone Lamont West Obituary

On Saturday, October 7, 1961 Littleton and Deila West welcomed their baby Tyrone Lamont to the world at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, NJ. A sport enthusiast of all kind he played offensive line on Montclair's football team. While majoring in Communications at Ohio State, he became a DJ of choice.

A man of applied diligence, Tyrone worked his way up from security guard to Supervisor of Engineering and Computer Facility at Smith ndustries Aerospace & Defense Systems in Florham Park, NJ. There le met Yancy (wife) and James Squire (brother). While at AT&T he went from phone dispatch to departmental manger leading 22 people for 10 years. His sensitivity to others and willingness to offer prayer and biblical insight in the conference room will never be forgotten.

Tyrone valued connecting with Masonic and Phi Beta Sigma brothers, community, and family; with Virginia roots lighting his joy any time of year. In his church family St. Paul, Deacon West's choice contribution was indelible. Like the Giants and Jets season tickets holder he was, Tyrone Lamont West tried to bring the best game out of those around him.

Tyrone was preceded in death by his parents, uncles and aunts Alfred Venable (Virginia), William Venable (survived by Elizabeth), George Venable (survived by Lillie), Sammy Venable (Neva), Nannie Morton (Joe), Franklin D. West, Sr. (Eleanor and Jestever) and John R. West, Jr. (survived by DeLois, as well as Mattie), in addition to first cousins Lerner Randall, Jacqueline Johnson, and Antoine R. West, Sr. (survived by Edith).

Others Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory, former wife Anayancy Valdes, daughter Nicole M. West, Uncle Walter Binga West, Sr. (Dimple), as well as first cousins Curtis Morton, Veronica Beal, Darin Venable (Monique), Pamela Wilson (Ralph), Alfred Venable (Florence), Timothy Venable, Franklin D. West, Jr. (Sandra), Brenda R. Mitchener (Winfred), Orestes V. West (Gwen), Vanessas W. Washington (Pembroke Wadell), Walter B. West, Jr. (Linda), Eric D. West (Lee-Ann), and many other family and friends who miss him dearly.
