The Life of Myron Leon Jeter


Myron Leon Jeter, 58, of Lusbv, MD, passed away in the early morning hours of October 13, 2025, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC .


Myron was born April 4, 1967, Prince Edward County, VA at Southside Hospital, to the late James Leon Jeter and Bettie Jean (Eanes) Jeter.


At an early age, Myron joined Pilgrim Baptist Church in Washington, DC, under the tutelage of the late “Rev. Dr. Charles W. Green.  Myron attended Prince George’s County Public Schools and was highly active in school and in the community.  He participated in Cub Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, and loved playing football as a member of the local little league and his high school football teams.  Myron graduated from DuVal High School in 1985.


Soon after graduation, Myron volunteered for the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Lance Corporal.  After his tour of duty and honorable discharge, he briefly attended Lincoln Technical Institute in Prince George’s County, MD.  As a civilian, Myron worked for NASA and Washington Hospital Center.  Myron finally found his home with the Department of Veteran Affairs as a Federal Police Officer and Dispatcher combined throughout his career he has over 36 years of Federal service.


From his youth through adulthood, Myron was always active and engaged with friends and family.  He genuinely enjoyed cooking for anyone who visited his home.  He loved riding motorcycles, deep-sea fishing and deer hunting with his buddies.  Myron was a proud gun owner and avid weapons collector – he made sure he and his loved ones were protected.  Myron also loved history and politics.  He was quick to share facts about Black history and to offer his analysis of national and global events. 


The proud father of two beloved sons, Makhai Israel and Jordan Christopher.  Myron enjoyed a special bond with each of them, passing on his love of the Marines and his passion for football – especially Dallas Cowboys football.


Myron settled in Lusby, MD where he found joy in entertaining friends and family and creating a home with his fiancé Toni and his beloved Yorkie, “Butch”.


Myron was preceded in death by his father, James Leon Jeter, sister, Adelia Clark; and sister, Andrea Bennett.


Left to celebrate his life are Myron’s mother, Bettie Jean Jeter; sons, Makhai Israel Jeter and Jordan Christopher Crawford; fiancé Falencia “Toni” Speaks, brother, Alvin Clark, Sr.; sister, Shelley Sims (Deric); nephews, Milton Lucas. Jr., Alvin Clark, Jr., Patrick Bennett (Jasmine), William Bennett, Cameron Clark (Marwa), and Bobbby Lee Sims (Amiri), nieces, Janine Bennett, Brittney Beltran (Kei), and Dericka Sims, brothers by another mother, Anthony “Tony”

Green (Zaneta), James “Jim” Graves (Stacy), and Alvin Miles, sister from across the street, Monica Lawson (Daniel); goddaughter, Janae Green; aunts, Juan Conway (Phillip), Maxine Wingo, Elsie Goodman, and Charlene Palmer, uncles Freeman Cornell Rlandolph, Sr. and Malcolm Jeter (Carolyn), along with a host of other beloved relatives, coworkers, and friends.


Myron’s presence was unforgettable.  He will be forever missed and forever loved.
