Deaconess Mattie Elizabeth G. Chappell, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at her residence in Amelia County.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Cornell Chappell, Sr. and daughter Paulette C. Warren.  Deaconess Chappell is survived by her loving family; sons, Cornell Jr. (Bonnie), Kenneth, Sr. (Lucy) and Ronald Chappell; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, host of nephews and nieces (devoted and caring niece Belinda Taylor), devoted son in law, Larry Warren, adopted daughter and sister Brenda Wahl, host of devoted cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
