Willie Lee Davis Sr. Obituary

In Loving Memory of Willie Lee Davis Sr.

Willie Lee Davis Sr., of Amelia, Virginia, transitioned peacefully at the

age of 94. He was raised by his grandparents in Amelia, and is

preceded in death by three sisters.

In 1952, Willie moved to New York to follow the love of his life, Grace

Harris. Together, they raised four children before returning to Amelia

after his retirement. Willie had a magnetic personality-he was social,

vibrant, and lived by his favorite phrase,“I never met a stranger I

didn’t like.”

A passionate weightlifter, he led a social club that guided

young people in building strong bodies and character. He loved

hunting, and his family was his greatest joy. He and Grace were

married for over 70 years, and he was the best provider a family could

ever ask for.

He is survived by his wife Grace Davis, his four children- Wilbur

“Winky” (Gwen), Juanita “Nita” (Thomas), Janice (Ronald), Willie Jr.

“Boo” (Sabrina). Seven loving grandchildren, four great-

grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of

devoted friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in

the memory of Willie Lee Davis Sr., to a local charity servicing Cancer

and/or Dementia patients .

Willie may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in all of the hearts that knew him
