Alice Virginia Goode Friend Obituary

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, God sent down an from Heaven and carried Alice Virginia Goode Friend to her eternal home. A home of rest, free from all sickeness and pain.


Alice was born March 4, 1938, in Amelia, Virginia to the late Chester and Rebecca Lawrence Goode. She was baptized at the Good Hope Baptist Church at a young age. In  1956, she graduated from Russell Grove High School. After leaving Amelia, she relocated to Philadelphia where she met and married the late Clarence Friend. To this union, four children were born. She relocated back to Amelia, Virginia in 1970 and retired from GBC after twenty-five years of employment.


She was preceded in death by her siblings, John Sr., Carl and James Goode; son-in-law, Paul Thomas Jr.; brother-in-law, George Fields Sr.


Alice leaves fond, precious, and loving memories to her children, Lorri Thomas, Daryl, Derrick, and Linda Friend; five grandchildren, Allen Friend, Torri Thomas, Demetry Epps, Raven and Tyrell Friend (their mother, Kamethia); one great grand child, Aliza Friend; sister Lorraine Fields; sister-in-law, Catherine Good; host of nieces, devoted Sandra G. Perry, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
