Today we face one of life’s most difficult moments,

 the loss of someone so very special and precious to each of us.

Mary Lee Scott Paulette Baker, 82, of Amelia went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2023.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe H. Paulette.  She is survived by her husband, Irvine Baker; her daughter, Julie Harvie (Lewis); her sons, Terry Paulette (Stacy), Charles Paulette (Rhonda), Joe Paulette and stepdaughter, Amy Jackson (Scott). She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Thelma Scott and brother, James Scott (Joan). She is survived by her siblings, Nancy Wood (Bob), Charles Scott (Doris), and Tom Scott (Carolyn); Mary Lee loved being “Nannie” to her nine grandchildren, Stephanie Parrish (Charlie), Hunter Harvie, Lewis Harvie (Jessica), Ryan Paulette (Alyssa), Lindsey Paulette, Matthew Paulette, Morgan Black (Jody), Baker Jackson, Anna Scott Jackson; and her five great grandchildren, Luke, Kate, Emmie, Braden and Everly and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends.

Mary Lee owned and operated a hair salon for many years and helped her husband run the Colonial Arms Restaurant and 360 Truck Plaza. She served as president of Amelia County Fair Association for several years. Mary Lee loved working in her flower garden and always had a beautiful array of flowers.  We will cherish our memories of making Christmas cookies, going fishing, rides in the wagon, swimming in the pool and playing games.

Mary Lee was a beautiful person inside and out, a truly selfless person who loved her family immensely and took great care of them. Deeply loved by her family, she will never be forgotten.
