MRS. OCELIA HARRIS FEATHERSTON

On Saturday, March 20, 2024, our family circle was broken again.  The love and sweet spirit of our loved one, Ocelia Harris Featherston, went to be with her Savior, to a home not built by man’s hands but whose maker and builder is God Almighty.

Ocelia was born on July 21, 1936, to the late Riley and Nettie Scott Harris in Chesterfield, Virginia.  She was educated in the public schools of Chesterfield County and furthered her education at MCV Nursing School. She loved basketball (March Madness and the NBA), music, flowers, cooking for her family and being with her family members especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had a cleaning and custodial service. She attended church services until her health began to decline.

Ocelia was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Connie Featherston, brothers, Herbert, Allen, Floyd, Eddie, Macon, Cleveland, and William.

Ocelia leaves precious and loving memories to her husband, Clinton C. Featherston, Jr; children, Nettie Tayor (Nehemiah), Clinton C. Featherston, III, Janet Tuck (Elvis), George Featherston (Toni), and Ruth Lapner; she also helped raised her grandchildren, Nicole Jones and Antonio Featherston; sisters, Edith Harris, Evelyn Williams; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren, and also great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sylvester Archer and Mabel Harris; brother-in-law, Raymond Epps; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
