Robert Eugene Fitzgerald, (also known as Bubba Fitz), of McKenney VA, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born on August 7, 1953, in Amelia County, VA to the late Bossie Fitzgerald and to Mary Daisy Brown Fitzgerald.

He was the 5th child of seven siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Bonita Hawkins Fitzgerald; his father, Bossie

Fitzgerald; brothers: Bossie Edward Fitzgerald and James Lee Fitzgerald, Sr. He was educated in Amelia County Public Schools and left there to join the Job Corps, where he completed a training program and received a General Educational Diploma.

Bubba joined the Manassa Hill Baptist Church in Amelia, VA, at an early age. He worked at Dalton's Convenience Store in Blackstone, VA for several years until retirement age. In the later years, prior to his failing health and until he could no longer work, he performed various labor jobs in the agricultural industry. He was a no nonsense kind of person, who lived an uncomplicated life.

Bubba is survived by his mother, Mary Daisy Fitzgerald; sisters: Mary Louise Worsham (Otis);|Virginia M. Bowden (Lemuel), and Patricia A Bragg (Benjamin); and a brother, Charles L. Fitzgerald (Vicky); stepdaughter, Bonita Natasha Hawkins, and stepson, Michael Morgan (Hope); step grandchildren: Teondra Hawkins, Mikaela Wyche, Michael Morgan, Jr, and Xavier Morgan; mother in law, Alice L Atkins; sisters in laws: Shirley Bowden Fitzgerald, Alice H Scott (John), Patricia Winfield (Anthony), Katrina Hawkins, Shanika Hawkins, and Victoria Hawkins, and a brother in law, Joshua Hawkins-Hill (Sophia); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,

extended family members and friends.
