Obituary of Clinton Randolph Lee Booker

Please share a memory of Clinton to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

I fought a good fight, I have finished the course

And I have kept the faith.   2nd Timothy 4:7

On Thursday, August 15, 2024, God looked down and saw that one of His children needed eternal rest. He whispered to him and said “My Son, it’s time to come home to be with your Heavenly Father.

Clinton Randolph Lee Booker affectionately known as “Poochie” was born on January 12, 1952 to the late Daisy Daniels Booker, and the late James Lee, Sr.

He was educated in Amelia Public Schools. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Promise Land Baptist Church where he was a faithful member.

Clinton was a hardworking man. He was employed at Alleghany Warehouse for numerous years from where he retired.  Retirement didn’t sit well with him, so he went to work at St. Francis Hospital in the Nutritional Services. He was there for fourteen years, and he loved working there, and the many people he met and served loved him.

Helping others was his passion. He would do what he could to help people. He never told anyone no, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Spending time with his children and grandchildren was his number one priority. They were his joy!

Some of his pastimes were playing a good game of spades, going to the golf course, watching his Washington Commanders football team play, and detailing cars.

He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Rosemary Booker, Delores Russell, Patricia Murrell; five brothers, James “Josh” Booker, George Booker, William “Billy” Ward, James “Junnie” Booker, and Jimmy Lee.

He leaves behind to cherish so many fond memories: a loving and devoted wife, Brenda Booker; four devoted and loving children, Darnell Oulds (Tiffany), Latoya Oulds (Michael), Chantelle Green (Kevin), and DeVon Jones (Ashley); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, four sisters, Shirley Brown, Irene Robinson (Ernest), Paula Brimmage (Andre), Rosemarie Haskett; two brothers, Charles Gillum, Vernon Gillum (Lorraine); three sisters-in-law, Anna Booker, Mary Booker, Virginia Ward; host of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Poochie very much, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
