Obituary of Mary Alice Dabney

On the evening of October 11, 2024, God sent His angel to the bedside of Reverend Mary Alice Dabney and whispered, my child it is time to come home and take your rest. Your work on earth is finished.

Mary was born March 31, 1950, in Jetersville, Virginia to the late George, Sr. and Sarah Bernice Eggleston Booker.  She was educated in the public schools of Amelia Virginia.

She joined St. James Baptist Church, now Life of Love Ministries @ St. James at a very tender age, later she located to Richmond and joined the Mt. Siani Baptist Church.  After moving back to Amelia, she worshipped at Pilgrim Baptist Church where she served faithful until the Lord led her back to her home church. She preached the Word of God in and out of season letting people know she was a believer of Jesus Christ.

Mary loved to shop at Goodwill stores, visit family and friends, traveling and was a loving caregiver to many.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Dabney, sisters Christine Roberts, Barbara and Charlie Payne, Addie and Alice Booker, brothers, Walter and Grandison Booker.

Mary leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to son, Shawn Deon Booker; daughter, Sherry Smith (Karen); grandchildren, Johnesha Paige-Boone (Michael), Albert Lee White III; sister, Maria Loney (Norman, Sr.); brothers, Samuel, George (Catherine), Jerome (Eleanor) Booker; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends, special friends, Pastor Betty Faison, Patty Hurst, Gertrude Powell, Michelle Hurdle, and Thelma Green.
