Dorothy Mae Jeter Randolph was born October 26, 1943, in Amelia, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late James Alfred and Josephine Barley Jeter. On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Dorothy Mae Jeter Randolph passed peacefully at Johnston Willis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
At an early age Dorothy Mae became a member of the Little Union Baptist Church where she was also baptized. She served as a unique soprano and lead singer of the choir, hospitality committee, and anywhere else she was asked to serve. She loved to praise dance with the 30 plus Praise Dancers. She also sung and directed the choir for years at Ebeneezer Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Paul Wilson. She graduated from the former Russell Grove High School in 1961.
Dorothy Mae loved to cook, travel, listen to music, and gardening. She loved laughter, making others laugh, and told it just like it was.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Freeman Cornell Randolph.
She leaves to cherish fond and precious memories, devoted husband of 60 years, Freeman Cornell Randolph, Sr; three loving children, Angela Randolph, Freeman Cornell Randolph Jr., and Jermaine Randolph; three grandchildren, Emerald Randolph-Hill, Freeman Cornell Randolph III, and Angelisa Randolph; two great grandchildren, Cydel and Emeryce Hill; two sisters, Juan Conway (Phillip), and Maxine Wingo; brother, Malcolm Jeter (Carolyn); host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many devoted friends.
