We gather here today under the wings of God Almighty to honor and give thanks to him for the life of our beloved uncle, Mr, Ben Booker, Jr. Ben was born on February 27, 1925 in Amelia, Virginia to the late Ben Booker, Sr. Pearl Dickerson Booker. He was the sixth of nine children born to this union. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at the Union Branch Baptist Church. He was educated in the Truxillo School. He was married to the late Mrs. Bertha Redd Booker. Ben’s entire career was working with wood better known a “a Saw Man”. He was last employed with Lee’s Logging in Amelia, Virginia until he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents - Mr. and Mrs. Ben Booker, Sr.; wife - Mrs. Bertha Booker, brothers - Mr. Tommy Booker, Sr., Mr. Joe Louis Booker and Mr. Henry Booker, all of Amelia, Virginia; sisters - Mrs. Jennie B. Holcomb, Mrs. Mary Pitchford, Mrs. Florence Royal and Mrs. Celia Royal, all of Amelia, Virginia and Mrs. Frances Brown of Powhatan, Virginia. Special friend- Ms. Mary Johnson of Amelia, Virginia. He leaves to cherish precious memories; Nephews- Mr. Richard Holcomb, Jr, (Edith), Devoted Reverend Ervin Booker (LaFreida), Mr. William Booker (LaVada), Mr. Henry Royal, Jr. (Anita), Mr. Jimmy L. Royal (Quennie), Mr Juniors Royal and MR. Tommy Booker, Jr. (Janet); Nieces - Mrs. Elsie Moore (Edward), Devoted Mrs. Majorie Farrell, Devoted Mrs. Katherine “Jane: Tabb (Bryant), Mrs. Pearline Baker, Mars. Gail Robinson, Mrs. Rosa Marie Owens (Robert), Ms. Patricia Royal and Mrs. Lisa Byrd; Devoted great nieces - Ms. Shawnte’ Barley, Ms. Alvita Barley and Mrs. Donna Lee; sisters-in-law - Mrs. Lucille Booker and Ms. Geneva Royal, all of Amelia, Virginia and a host of other relatives and friends (among them - Mr. Dallas Crowder, Mr. Edward Anderson, Jr., Reverend Wilson Monroe and Mrs. Delia Jackson Patrick & Family, all of Amelia, Virginia and the Watkins Family of Rice, Virginia.
