On Monday, January 18, 2021, one of earth’s angels was called home to be with the Lord. Lillian IdellCrawley Scott was born on April 2, 1919, to Lemuel Crawley and Bessie Tucker Crawley in Amelia County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Washington Scott of 60 years, her parents and stepmother, Rosa Baugh Crawley, sister, Earline Crawley Freeman, brother, John Crawley and sister, Margaret Crawley, three grandchildren, Renee, Howard, and Darrin, and one great grandchild, Shante.
She attended Union School until the 7th grade when she left school to help out on the farm. However, her limited education did not stop her from being an avid reader of the newspaper daily or keeping up with news on TV or working her word-find puzzles every day.
She joined Springfield Baptist Church at an early age, later moving her membership to Union Baptist Church, Amelia, to be with her immediate family.
She loved fishing, gardening, tending to her many flowers, traveling, watching her favorite soap operas and her favorite TV show of all time, The Family Feud!
She leaves to carry on her beautiful life’s legacy, three daughters, Dorothy Laverne Scott Sloan, Rosa Delores Scott Clark and Anna Mae Scott Pegram (John) and her “adopted” daughter, Barbara Booker (Thomas); she also leaves to cherish her memory, one devoted sister, Mildred Crawley and one devoted brother, James Crawley (Sheila), along with eight grandchildren, Ronda, Dawn, Pamela, Robert, Lisa, Kevin, Tiffany and Sophia; seventeen great grandchildren, Wakiesha, Raneisha, Diamond, Bianca, Aaliyah, Darrin, Dior, Kaliah, Keonte, Ebony, Tia, Jovan, Raegyn, Triniti, Derek, LaToya and Tatum; thirteen great-great grandchildren, Robert, Terry, Hajile, Hajanya, Jonathan, Jasia, Marley, Rosie, Audrina, Janiya, Jayla, Israel and Isaac; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other family, many friends, and her caregivers, Joyce Fitzgerald, Melissa Greenway, and Staff at Southside Regional Hospital.
