Obituary of Louise Holcomb

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our dearly beloved Ella Louise Holcomb died on February 6, 2020 at her home in Amelia Court House, Virginia surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was just 75 years old. Louise was born in Jetersville, Virginia on April 18, 1944, the first of three girls born to the union of Wirt Branch and Josephine Goode. She was educated in Amelia County Public Schools and attended Russell Grove High School along with her sisters Joan and Alice. Louise, who was very popular in school, was known for her sense of humor and liked by everyone. Louise eventually found the love of her life and was married to the late Leroy James Holcomb (also of Jetersville) on June 23, 1962. From that union would come two beautiful daughters, Terry Darlene and Erica Yolanda, to whom Louise and Leroy would devote the rest of their lives to being the most loving parents possible. That deep genuine love for her family was her most endearing quality and was felt by all who came to know her. Her heartfelt love was most apparent in her love for her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Especially for them, “Grandma” will be truly missed. Because of Louise’s natural love for people, her employment for many years as a caregiver was a natural fit for her. She was also especially fond of her last remaining aunt, Ms Lena Mae Archer, and devoted niece Ms Pamela Bolden (Raymond), and devoted friends Queen Ester Jackson & Jessie Faulkner. Louise was also very close to her Good Hope Baptist Church family and served as an important member of their food/hospitality team. She remained an active member until her health declined. We desire to remember her for the love and joy she brought for so many years. She enjoyed playing cards, doing crosswords puzzles, and was a full-fledge, card carrying “shop-a-holic” (as shopping was truly one if her passions). She loved cooking, and was known for the best rice pudding and homemade rolls in Amelia County. Although many called her “Mama Louise”, she leaves to mourn her death, her sister Joan Davis; her daughters Terry Evans (Ray) and Erica Roberts; grandchildren Ray, Ebony, LaQuisha, Tyeasha, Trey’vonte, Justin, Jasmine, Zykerra, Kardaisha; great-grands Keonte, Cor’Mari, Quavuez, Delonte, Nasion, Kylan, Kenzley; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who have been touched by her loving personality.
