Obituary of Louise Hayes Wilson

Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We have gathered today under the wings of our Heavenly Father to give honor, praise and thanks to God for the life and memory of Sister Louise Hayes Wilson.

“Nanny” as she was affectionately called by her granddaughters entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2021.

“Nanny” was born on August 17, 1937 in Amelia County, Virginia.  She was the first sibling born to the late Deacon Arthur, Sr. and Deaconess Bertha Booker Hayes.

At an early age “Nanny” confessed, was baptized, and joined the Mt. Level Baptist Church where she remained a dedicated, loyal, and faithful member until declining health.  She served on the Usher’s Ministry, Missionary Ministry and was a singing angel on the Choir at Mt. Level.  She had a voice that would touch your heart and soul.  Can’t you see her singing in the heavenly choir, “Showers of Blessings”.

Nanny loved flowers and always had a beautiful flower garden.  She also loved her grandchildren and great grands, and anyone she knew, they would tell you the same.  She loved them so much.  She was fond of hats, just like her Mother, “Ma Bert”.  Oh how stunning they always looked.

She was joined in holy matrimony to Lee Archer Wilson in 1957 and to this union two children were born.  She was preceded in death by brother, Marvin, and son-in-law, Roy Lawrence.

“Nanny” leaves to cherish fond and precious memories to her devoted husband of sixty-four years, Lee Archer Wilson; loving and devoted children, daughter Bertha “Puddin” Lawrence and son, Ronald “Ronnie” Wilson (Benita); two loving granddaughters, Kenyatha Moreland and Nikita Mayfield (Donyare); five adorable great grandkids that she loved and cherished dearly; two brothers, Rev. Arthur (Edna) and Deacon Robert Hayes, Sr.; four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends, special friends, Ella Crayton, Alice Crater and Marie Williams EL.
