On April 15, 2022, God called Allen Oliver Ruffin to his heavenly home. He was born to the late John Allen and Geneva Banks Ruffin in Amelia, Virginia on August 10, 1937. He was educated in the Amelia County School System (Old Brick Church School).
Allen was employed as a custodian for over fifty years in various companies. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Fannie Elizabeth Ruffin on March 3, 1982, at Riverhead Church of Christ, Long Island, New York. He always provided for his family and loved to work in his garden and cutting grass. He also loved helping his many friends in the community.
Allen leaves to cherish his loving memories, daughters, Christine and Patricia Knight, Keera K. Christian, Camesha Carnegie, Ernestine Owens, Beatrice Freeman; sons, Marvin and James Knight, and Latroy Askew; grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma Eggleston, Virginia and Frances Ruffin, Lateefah Elelamin; brothers, Joseph and Wilson Ruffin; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Daddy’s favorite sayings, “You buy beef, you buy bones, you buy land, you buy stones, let goodbye be goodbye” and “Old love never dies, it gets deeper and deeper, but love is a funny thing.”
